I consider myself a lifelong learner. I chose to work in higher education in order to immerse myself its collaborative nature and a free-thinking environment that universities typically encourage. Throughout my career, I have championed the need for instructional designers to be embedded within departments whenever possible. Having such expertise readily available to faculty is critical to ensuring high quality faculty development and instruction. No where is this more important than with those who teach at a distance. Teaching hybrid/online courses requires a special skill set to be successful. With over 20 years of experience teaching classroom, hybrid and fully online courses, and providing sound instructional design expertise, I am excited to see what the future brings to higher education.

In a parallel career as a composer/songwriter, I have written and published music for almost 40 years, with expertise in instrumental electronic composition, mainstream (pop/alternative) songwriting, studio recording (Pro Tools, Logic Pro X), producing, and mastering.

Specialties: Providing meaningful consultations to university/college faculty on the methodology and best practices of teaching both in the classroom and at a distance. Consulting faculty on integrating appropriate technology into classroom teaching and curriculum. Researching (and trying) new teaching styles, student consultations in instructor self-assessment, classroom and online/hybrid course redesign, new course planning and design, course material design/development, professional audio/video editing, Blackboard/Moodle/Canvas, HTML, Adobe Indesign and Photoshop.
