As educators utilize more and more online resources and create/re-purpose video content, the rules of copyright differ depending on all sorts of factors. UR’s Campus Copyright Committee serves as an advisory group for the University of Richmond community on issues related to copyright and other intellectual property issues, such as author’s rights and publisher agreements. The committee represents university members who are knowledgeable about various copyright issues and who are committed to developing policies, processes and educational opportunities related to copyright.

The committee has created a special e-mail address that allows students, faculty and staff to contact the committee. Contact them at fairuse@richmond.edu. Note that the copyright committee does not provide legal advice. Rather, they can assist with providing useful information as well as help thinking through copyright law.
