Welcome to the Virginia 200 Miler Home Page
Goal: For a team of 10-12 people to run 200 miles as a relay from approximately Patrick Springs, VA to Richmond. Most likely this will be split into something like 5-7 mile segments, so each person runs three times. I expect this will take around 26-28 hours. The intention is to start at 4 or 5 pm on Friday May 11 in Patrick Springs and finish at 7 - 9 pm Sat. May 12 at my house in Richmond where we will then cook out and drink beer all night!

Goal: For a team of 15 people to run from
Cumberland Gap, VA - intersection just south of this point a route approximately 433 miles to
1912 Princess Anne Ave, Richmond, Virginia in 72 hours. Then drink beer and cook out at the house.
Each person will run 10 mile segments in a standard rotation, with all but the last person running 3 full segments.
At 10 minute miles, it is 1:40 per 10 mile segment. 5 hours per every 3 segments so 15 segments would take 25 hours, and we would finish in about 74 hours.
Each runner would run at roughly the same time every day plus or minus one to two hours.
The goal though would be to finish in under 72 hours and preferably 64.
Dates: Start: 7 am Thursday May 10th
Finish: 7 am Sunday May 13th

Ideas
* Get three large passenger vans and maybe a motor home?
* Each minivan takes four runners and goes for about 6 hours and 40 minutes, meets up with the next and then heads to the motor home, which is at the start of the next major segment?
* Have a hot-meal plan.
