Palm Computing

Colleges and universities across the country are experimenting with PalmComputing and how it can help both the instructor and students in and out of the classroom. While the PalmPhones have made communicating with everyone easier, PalmComputing is increasing productivity and becoming more popular with all working professionals. Palm users can dowload Microsoft Word and Excel documents and review and edit the documents on the small screen that is held in the palm of their hands. These small devices can be synched with the users desktop or laptop and certain predetermined information can be downloaded to the Palm unit. Once the informaiton is in the device, the user can read, store, edit and send the information to other people using Palm units or another desktop or laptop computer.

Attached is an article about Indiana State University and the Palm initiative they started a couple of years ago. http://newman.richmond.edu:2378/10.1145/950000/947479/p27-janz.pdf?key1=947479&key2=6469199111&coll=portal&dl=ACM&CFID=48466586&CFTOKEN=56056153 -- ChadLonderee - 28 Jun 2005
