Through both its brick and mortar facilities in Emmistburgh, Maryland and its website http://training.fema.gov/EMIWeb, the Emergency Management Institute provides education and training to emergency management professionals and first responders throughout the United States.

Courses are focused around the four phases of emergency response: mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. The hundreds of courses available through the EMI website are free of charge. Course cost vary for resident courses, but many are funded by Federal Preparedness funds.
