Front Page Extensions

This is a current record (as of February 2006) of some of the things people are using on the web to enhance their websites, the teaching process, or for their research.

Surveys

Every semester graduate students in psychology do a few surveys to gather data for their research. This semester is the same. Server extensions allow students to collect the survey data in Microsoft Excel format so that it is easy to transfer to SPSS for analysis.

• Biology203 - students collected data for analysis. It was much easier to collect via the web and analyze with excel. lab

• Many departments complete their senior exit surveys via Front Page example

Shared Borders/Navigation and Include Pages

This is an easy way to teach students how to have a website that has a consistent navigation throughout the site. Students in ISYS 203 and Mrs. Hobgood's classes both create websites for class using shared borders.

This technique is also used in the Study Abroad pages for the semester programs.

Check in/Check Out

Enables us to work with departments that have stored there sites on a shared drive because they have multiple authors. Examples include:

Publishing HTTP

All sites that use Front Page are currently publishing via http. These include all faculty and staff sites and other sites such as:
