iPods

Spring 2009 Teaching & Learning with iPods Program

Apple’s iPod is far and away the most popular portable media device. The iPod can store and display audio, video, still images and text. From an education standpoint the iPod is a portable multimedia center that has the potential to extend learning in many different ways.

Since Spring 2006, Information Services has helped University of Richmond faculty to incorporate iPods into a number of courses. We are now transitioning from a model of semester initiatives with a request for proposal to a model of working with UR faculty to incorporate the technologies on other time scales similar to cameras, student response systems, etc. This means that based on availability and the needs of the course, UR faculty can begin working with CTLT staff at any time to begin the steps. CTLT academic technology consultants will support the class, providing:

At the conclusion of the activity, the equipment will be returned to the CTLT.
