Amy Treonis and Malcom Hill - Biology
Students will use iPods in Integrative Biology I: Evolution, Diversity of Life, and Ecology course. Most students in this course are at the sophomore level, which is particularly appropriate for testing this technology - they are enthusiastic about trying new things, yet they are seasoned enough as college students to be reflective about the experience and how it contributes to their learning.
Objectives:- To enhance student learning through use of supplemental pod/vodcast course material.
- To encourage students to explore biodiversity through development of a “Creature Feature” assignment for which students will prepare their own podcasts.
- To encourage active and improved study by students through use of iPods to create audio recordings of lectures.
Events:
August 31st - Students attended a "Getting Started" session where they received their iPods, information regarding the assignment, and the names of their creatures.
